Marc Wright
Managing Director
Over a 25 year career spanning the Films & TV Division of the COI, Creative Director of Crown Business Communications and Chairman of MCA Live, Marc has consulted on some of the largest communication programmes seen in the UK for blue chips such as Vodafone, British Airways, American Express and Microsoft. He conceived and produced the highly influential Strategy Roadshow for the UK government which was attended by over 50,000 businesses, and wrote and directed the TV drama series 20 Steps to Better Business for the BBC.
He was responsible for Putting People First Again for British Airways – a programme for 35,000 employees which helped restored the airline following some damaging strikes Marc is a former Chairman of the International Visual Communication Association and Past Chair of the Europe and Middle East Region of the International Association of Business Communicators and Programme Director EuroComm 2010 held in Turin.
He is the publisher of www.simply-communicate.com - the knowledge site for internal communication professionals and presents their monthly programme simplytv. He is also editor of the Gower Handbook of Internal Communication.
Marc was recently voted into the Top 10 International Presenters by the International Association of Business Communicators. He presents and consults around the world for companies such as GSK, Lloyds Banking Group, the European Investment Bank and Tetra Pak.
Kelly Kass
Project Manager
With years of experience editing simply-communicate.com, Kelly brings a vast knowledge of internal communication best practices to the table. Her New York location puts her at the epicenter of the business world with a strong contact base in several global organizations. Over the years, Kelly has interviewed internal communication directors in companies such as Philips, Merrill Lynch, Sprint, SAS and Verizon to name a few. She is on the pulse of the latest tools, trends and thinking in the world of internal communications and knows what makes managers and their employees tick.
Prior to joining simply-communicate, Kelly held a six-year position at a large production company in New York, working closely with corporate communication teams to deliver innovative and strategic messaging to employees – particularly in the areas of video and live events. She also has a strong background in the media; previous employers include CBS and Lifetime Television.
Sophia Cheng
Community Manager
After graduating from University of Nottingham with a degree in Psychology & Cognitive Neuroscience, Sophia travelled for nearly a year from London to New York, the long way round. Passionate about people, multiculturalism and the planet, she worked at the Environmental Investigation Agency improving their digital communications from the ground up. Implementing various online channels, from blogs and email marketing to redeveloping a new website and training staff in new ways of communicating. Sophia has applied the benefits of Web 2.0 and inbound marketing to the medium-sized NGO.
Silvia Cambié
International communication professional and social media strategist.
She consults with organisations like Diageo, Unilever, UniCredit, Royal Bank of Scotland, Deutsche Bank, Tetra Pak, the United Nations Development Programme, the World Health Organisation, the European Parliament, the European Investment Bank and the Chilean Economic Development Agency.
The social media campaign she developed for the European Training Foundation, an agency of the European Union, won the Gold Quill and EMErald Awards of the International Association of Business Communicators in 2011.
Her background includes financial journalism – reporting from Central and Eastern Europe, from a base in Prague in the early 1990s, for major German and British print media (including Euromoney and Handelsblatt)- as well as external and internal communication for Brussels-based international trade associations.
She is a recognized public speaker and has addressed audiences worldwide including South Africa, Russia, Malaysia, Dubai, Chile, the US, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, France and the UK. Silvia has lectured at the Sorbonne University (Paris), London Metropolitan University and San Sebastian University (Santiago). Silvia is the author of “International Communications Strategy – Developments in cross-cultural communications, PR and social media” published by Kogan Page and nominated for the FT Goldman Sachs Awards 2009.
She speaks five languages (English, German, French, Italian and Czech) and, from 2007 to 2010, served on the executive board of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
Shaun McHugh
Designer
Before pursuing a design career Shaun gradauted with a BA in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin and worked as a conusltant for Accenture. He subequently studied Graphic Design at Shillington College London as well as undertaking courses at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology and Central St. Martins. He has freelanced clients including Lloyds TSB, Havas International, Spark + Mettle, Open City Docs Festival, and LOGOC - creating graphics for permanent installations in the 2012 Olympic Park. Shaun is now responsible for design at simply-goodadvice and simply-communicate.
Daniel Penton
Consultant
Trained in journalism, Daniel worked in PR before making the move to internal comms. After a period at Pleon, Daniel joined simplygoodadvice whee he managed the newsletter and magazine projects of Tetra Pak. He was a key player in the highly successful communications campaign around the harmonisation of employment terms following the merger of LloydsTSB and Halifax Bank of Scotland. He has worked on SharePoint and intranet applications for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks.
Daniel writes regularly for simply-communicate and is currently consulting on a change transformation project for pharmaceutical company GSK.
Jim Ylisela

Jim is a longtime workshop leader, an award-winning journalist, editor and teacher. He is the former president of Ragan Consulting, a division of Ragan Communications, and was a professor of journalism at Northwestern University’s prestigious Medill Graduate School of Journalism.
Jim has taught numerous writing workshops for a variety of clients, including BP, Wells-Fargo, USAA, Nokia, American Express, Lafarge, Amgen and others. In the last six years, more than 3,000 communicators have attended his workshops on writing, strategic communications planning, social media communications and successful SharePoint implementation.
